Alas, these asshats in fact long for an America where they could prevent drag shows by directly making the queers fear for their life and limb. An America that extends to our lifetimes, if not necessarily where we each live. But since they mostly can’t do that with impunity any more they go for Plan B, causing general damage and endangerment in order to get the community to conclude tolerance is not worth the hardship. And also, these groups WANT to create an environment of internal strife, since they feel that (a) people at large will rather appease them and (b) naturally if it comes to violence THEY will win. ---
