Unfortunately, I live in Santos’s district (and voted for Zimmerman, his opponent). I will say that the media in the area are freely saying that he lied. I’m also happy to see that the local Republicans are criticizing him, including calling for ethics and legal investigations. It looks like they want nothing to do with him now. Of course there’s finger pointing going on, with the Long Island Republicans pointing out that Santos came from the City, and suggesting they assumed the city Republicans had properly vetted him. Locally, the lying about having Jewish/Holocaust survivor ancestors is particularly bad. ---

I suspect that it was one vote in 3 different elections (primary, general, run-off), not 3 votes in one election. ---

I don’t remember hearing this person’s name at all before today. Suddenly he’s all over the place, and multiple times in 3 of the most recent threads I read. I finally had to look him up since everyone else seems to know who he is. My conclusion is that he is a real piece of work.
