Sometimes I think Republicans think that they’re Harry Potter and that uttering the word “Woke!” will win them the argument (and that adding “FACT” after some errant nonsense magically makes it true). A disturbing number of people now operate on the basis of “Whatever I want to be true is true, and whatever I don’t want to be true isn’t true, and I can make them true or untrue by assertion regardless of all evidence to the contrary”. Which is rather sad. ---

It is so transparent any more that the GOP relies on a couple of language consultants that panel test certain phrases and words, and whatever sticks they send out over their talking-point wires so that EVERYONE starts parroting them. It helps if the speaker can get a little snarl going when they say it, “Liberal”, “Socialist”, “Woke”. OOGA-BOOGA-BOO! I kinda wish the left would own the words in order to take the wind out of their sails. “Yeah, I’m woke! What are you? Asleep?” ---
