Plausible deniability so he can have it suggested he has taken up evangelical Christianity I’ve known a lot of Indian immigrants and their children for whom that’s not even false Of course, that still leaves the rampant racism among the Republican base, but somehow some folks delude themselves into thinking they’ll be considered the ‘good’ kind of non-white. Or at least good enough to be elected to high office not realizing, at most, be used as the token example of how the base can’t “really” be racist if he’s around. ---
