She doesn’t take medications, but she probably should. It’s hard to imagine a more textbook example of a paranoid delusion. Pity we don’t have a pill to cure stupidity. ---

Back in the days before remote controls, my folks had something called a “whistle switch” connected to their bedroom TV. Think “clapper” except it was activated by, essentially, a squeak toy. Unfortunately, the pitch of the dog’s bark was in the range to activate it. More than a few times we came home to find the bedroom TV on. Perhaps something at MTG’s house was emitting a shrill high-pitched noise. ---

Perfect ThelmaLou. But fair is fair. I had a computer once that had a screwed up power supply that would turn on by itself. It was creepy as hell. ---

A few years ago, a colleague of mine had a computer that did quirky stuff. We were working at a Catholic social services agency. My friend draped a rosary over the terminal and that seemed to fix it. 😇 ---

Back in college, I was hanging out in a friend’s dorm room and every few minutes we’d hear a quacking sound. After quite a while of searching, we tracked it down to her ancient 90’s era Macintosh computer. Apparently the thing had an IR receiver on it somewhere and it was picking up signals from the TV remote and quacking in response to some (all?) of the button presses. ---

Hah! A friend and I were just discussing cats and lasers last week. We both consider that “game” to be cruel to the cat. They have no way of knowing that the spot is not some critter they’re trying to grab. And the analogy does not break down here. The far right minions are being played exactly like that, cruelly. That’s how we end up with cruel poeple in elected office. ---

The other one will only chase it if she gets to run up the wall. Cats is weird. ---
