While I’m not exactly enthralled with this ad, I feel compelled to point out that 1) Jim Lamon is competing in the Republican primary, not directly against Kelly for the moment; 2) Giffords was shot during a constituent service gathering, not a campaign rally; and 3) Lamon is not depicted as shooting anyone; rather, in accordance with the famous Western “good guy” trope, he shoots the guns out of the hands of “Kelly”, “Biden” and “Pelosi” (after they draw down on him, in accordance with the famous Western “bad guy” trope, natch). In any case, since I’d guess this ad was intended to rile up the libs more than anything, I’d have to say it was mission accomplished. All in all, done in worse taste than Trump Tower’s interior decorating. ---

Way back when BBSes were used before the Internet, I was showing a friend how to download porn. You had to email the sysop and assure them you were of legal age, etc. My friend Pat wrote a Penthouse Forum type email on the spot. I was so proud. ---
