Honestly, I hope Cawthorn is getting some adult mentor-ship and guidance. He reminds me of those professional athletes who get big contracts and, at the ripe old age or 22, don’t know how to behave as adults. At the very least, he lucked into a dream job and needs to stops being a performative frat-bro bonehead, or he’ll end up back in Hooterville selling mattresses. ---

I’ve been reading Bernard Malamud’s _The Fixer_ recently. I’m nearly finished with it, and I got to the following quote: " In a sick country every step to health is an insult to those who live on its sickness." The quote was describing anti-Semitism in the last days of the Russian Empire, but it seems eerily apropos for America today. I immediately thought of this thread when I read it. ---
