Idaho state legislator calls for a purge of smut from libraries. This is hardly the first time we’ve seen horrifying revelations being made known long long after the fact, which arguably _should_ have been reported to Congress, or the FBI, or to the press, at the time. As in previous instances, here Mark Esper is taking a lot of criticism for having kept quiet about it until now. (Supposedly so he could put it in his book. We’ve heard this before.) Trump’s “plan” (in genuine bona-fide scare quotes) was to target drug labs in Mexico. It was too arcane for him to understand that Patriot missiles are designed for ground-to-air strikes. ---

I found out about it during the runup to Desert Storm; it was possible to calculate a below ground intercept which is kind of late. Also they had to program in a way to block out ground obstructions like control towers and buildings. Having the missile try to fly through an apartment building to the correct intercept point for a target missile/aircraft was _not optimal_. The original PATRIOT (PAC 1 and PAC 2) had some other features that still not out and beyond need to know. ---

Just to add, there’s no way the tangerine turd could have known any of this. His idea(s) are beyond stupid in a grade school level way. Totally incompetent, without any self awareness (pawn of Putin), and a moral/ethical failure in all aspects of his life. Lack of a God or Hell is a real downer. ---
