I think I’ll just use the word, “gentleman” when it fits my style, what I’m trying to say and any general grammar rules involved. Other than that, you guys are on your own. ---

Exactly. Oh, and despite the name, I’m female. Eddy, Teddy, and Freddy were three orange tiger boycat brothers I adopted many years ago as a set. Yup, we can also deep-six “lady” except where it’s necessary, as in “the queen’s lady-in-waiting,” for example. ---

My preference would be human or person. In congress they are to refer to each other as the gentleman or gentlewoman/gentle lady from… . ---

I don’t object to “lady” or “gentleman” in general, or as a title (like “First Gentleman”), I just don’t like loading those terms with all the moral baggage of how a “proper gentleman” is supposed to behave… ---
