Reminds me of an ancient list, _The differences between Democrats and Republicans_. The germain one was,

- Democrats read their smut alone, at home
- Republicans form decency committees and read theirs aloud, in groups

Hunter S. Thompson would wonder if he needed to lay off the psychodelics for a while. “It’s getting a little too weird out here, even for me!”

The two people I think we REALLY need right now are George Carlin and Johnny Cash. Right-wingers think of both of them as “One Of Us”, but neither one of them would have any patience at all with the current crop of right-wingers.

I actually noticed when I saw the white soles below the standard dark suit, but it never occurred to me it would be a problem. It was nice but naive, I guess.

Frankly I think it looks silly but I wear shorts 85% of the time

I always said, _the difference between Democrats and Republicans is “Democrat” is a sneering perjorative while “Republican” is a vicious slur_. It is more relevant than ever. The Republicans fuck things up and the Democrats fail to fix the fuckupedness.

I’d rephrase that slightly:

If so, then why the hell did the D supermajority in '09-10 not fix a whole raft of fuckups from the preceding decade? There were not enough Rs to stop them, yet very little was actually fixed.

It takes time, effort and cooperation to get things right, but first you have to figure out what the right thing is in the first place. It is much easier(and faster) to fuck things up, as the Republicans have found out.

Exactly. The 2009-10 Democratic supermajority is a famous RW misinformation talking point.

It does baffle me how so many people on the right have convinced themselves that an atheist, anti-religion, anti-capitalist, anti-imperialism, anti-war foul-mouthed pro-abortion sexual deviant who hated Reagan and both Bushes would TOTALLY love Donald Trump.

If anything, Carlin would have only liked Trump in the same way he liked Clinton, in that unlike most politicians Clinton was willing to ADMIT that he was full of shit.
