[“Behold, The Terrible AI Cartoon That Explains The World As MAGA Sees It.”](https://www.wonkette.com/p/behold-the-terrible-ai-cartoon-that) A Wonkette posting, but it contains a link to and stills from the cartoon. Part of me wants to laugh uproariously at the insane preposterousness. In particular, the clueless irony of MAGAts pointing to images of a burning Constitution and trashed Capitol is richer than any dessert. But another part of me wants to curl up in a ball at the thought that many of my fellow Americans eagerly devour this shit sandwich like a fine steak, really believe the world is like this, and have both the ballot and deadly weapons. I got a shiver on reading that in the video “all of the bad non-MAGA people spontaneously combusted as soon as Trump was re-elected.” I know that even these yahoos know it’s a fantasy, but it’s their fantasy that everything would be better if everyone who’s not a straight pure-white Christian\* rural dweller was gone. When you’ve got people who’ve created and nurtured such a massive outlandish strawman of millions of their fellow Americans, so they can feel free to deem them mortal enemies and still consider themselves good Christians, it puts me in mind of a line from “Hunt for Red October”: “This business will get out of control. It will get out of control and we’ll be lucky to live through it.” Maybe not quite so cataclysmic, but some of these lunatics _will not_ be content to fight such evil schemers as they believe every non-straight, non-Xtian, urbanite, etc. to be with mere ballots or in the political arena. \*They’ll generously include Catholics, Orthodox Christians, and the like while the battle for a Christian nation is on, but if they ever won they’d turn in a trice on anyone not sufficiently fundamentalist or evangelical as themselves. ---
