But I wanted the same when a Republican President blatantly broke the law, gave weapons to our enemies, and nothing changed. Or when a Republican President got us into an unnecessary billion dollar war based on lies and nothing chaged. Or when a Republican President literally tried to overthrow the government, and nothing changed. I love your optimism, though. ---

The “Old Guard” are like roaches. They’ll flee when things get too bright, but they’re still there. They’ll raise money. They’ll pull strings behind the scenes. They’ll wait it out. Just like they did with Nixon’s inpeachment, Neocons, Contract with America, the Tea Party, the God botherers, and Trumps first term. ---

RNC chairman says Americans are worse off today than they were four years ago. I.e. March 2020, when everything was closed, unemployment was 15%, there was no toilet paper, and people were being tossed into mass graves because the morgues were full. At least, I think that’s what he was trying to say, because he accidentally said things are better under Biden. > ---

I suspect that it was just that he didn’t listen to a word she said. The purpose of these legislative hearings isn’t to hear what the witnesses say its for the legislators to pontificate, and time listening is time that is wasted that could be spent on thinking about what they are going to say next. ---
