Weren’t there stories about how when he was president the “daily briefings” he was given had to be reduced to single-page or similarly short summaries because he either couldn’t or wouldn’t be bothered to pay attention to detailed information?

Add to that [one terrorist, Kevin Roberts](https://www.youtube.com/embed/NE2zfD9_WVs), President of Heritage, who says _We’re having a new (RW) american revolution: just do like we say and nobody gets hurt_.

To which I respond, _if you find yourself going in circles, it is the time to stop with the revolutions_.

And after they were reduced to one page, he still wouldn’t read them.

I’m surprised this hasn’t been mentioned yet:

> Conspiracy theorist Rep. [Marjorie Taylor Greene](https://www.huffpost.com/topic/marjorie-taylor-greene) (R-Ga.) tried to celebrate American history over the [Independence Day](https://www.huffpost.com/news/topic/independence-day) weekend ― but got schooled by critics after she botched some basic details.
>
> “The average age of the signers of the Declaration of Independence on July 4, 1776 was 44 years old, but more than a dozen were 35 or younger,” she wrote, then listed eight names and ages:
>
> Thomas Jefferson: 33
> John Hancock: 39
> James Madison: 25
> Alexander Hamilton: 21
> James Monroe: 18
> Aaron Burr: 20
> Paul Revere: 41
> George Washington: 44

See if you can tell what’s wrong with that list.

Ready?

But as a community note tacked onto her message pointed out: “James Madison, Alexander Hamilton, James Monroe, Aaron Burr, Paul Revere, and George Washington were not signers of the Declaration of Independence.”

I’m really amazed. Somebody obviously had to look up the ages, but neglected to check if they were signers or not.

</div>

I don;t understand how people can be that stupid. As you noted, they had to look up the ages.

The right hates Wikipedia, but MTG should have used it.

And whatever point she thinks she is making, age is irrelevant. After all, Ben Franklin was 78 when he signed it.

Exactly. She informs herself the same way her voters inform themselves.

And this also suggests she does not run this through some staffer whose job is “prevent me from doing something stupid”.

Probably. But that’s why I said “someone” (not necessarily Greene) had to look up those ages. Whoever came up with that meme did, and screwed up.

What, you think I’m going to bother looking it up? If actual representatives can’t be bothered, neither can I. 🙂

This should make for some interesting interviews at the RNC.

A few gems:

> Republicans will use existing Federal Law to keep foreign Christian-hating Communists, Marxists, and Socialists out of America. Those who join our Country must love our Country. We will use extreme vetting to ensure that jihadists and jihadist sympathizers are not admitted.

> Republicans will cut federal Funding to sanctuary jurisdictions that release dangerous Illegal Alien criminals onto our streets, rather than handing them over to ICE

I’m sorry, who was releasing people into the streets?

> Republicans will end Democrats’ unlawful and unAmerican Crypto crackdown

Have dems been trying to crack down on crypto?

> We will repeal Joe Biden’s dangerous Executive Order that hinders AI Innovation, and imposes Radical Leftwing ideas on the development of this technology.

So, time for some deepfake smear campaigns?

> Under Republican Leadership, the United States will create a robust Manufacturing Industry in Near Earth Orbit, send American Astronauts back to the Moon, and onward to Mars

> To reduce the cost of Higher Education, Republicans will support the creation of additional, drastically more affordable alternatives to a traditional four-year College degree.

That sounds like a bad idea, see above billboard.

> Republicans will ensure children are taught fundamentals like Reading, History, Science, and Math, not Leftwing
> propaganda.

Reading? Science? Math? History? Sounds pretty fucking woke to me.

> Republicans will champion the First Amendment Right to Pray and Read the Bible in school, and stand up to those who violate the Religious Freedoms of American students.

But I bet they don’t understand the difference between having the right to do something and being required to do it. Perhaps now is the time to start expecting the Spanish Inquisition.

> PREVENT WORLD WAR THREE, RESTORE PEACE IN EUROPE AND IN THE MIDDLE EAST, AND BUILD A GREAT IRON DOME MISSILE DEFENSE SHIELD OVER OUR ENTIRE COUNTRY – ALL MADE IN AMERICA
