These days I wonder what the hell good I’m doing hanging around on this planet, sucking up resources probably better utilized by someone else. But 20-odd years ago, I organized my “shop” to decertify a county employee organization which was, while well intentioned, basically useless for negotiating work conditions and pay issues we faced against the State of California. I brought in and ensured we certified SEIU to represent us. Better known as the Teamsters. Things improved for our workers tout de suite and continue better to this day. I’ve always been a huge supporter of unions. It’s nice to remember I did make at least one small difference in this world. Well done, Billy Bragg. And thanks for sharing that link, @griffin1977. ---

I know there’s a hard-fought contest for the GOP’s stupidest Senator, and it’s a tough competition with the likes of Ron Johnson and Tommy Tuberville, but Ted Cruz is also a front-runner. Today he shared a tweet of a shark swimming along the 405 freeway in Southern California.
