It’s rather fascinating. “Do what we say with the election or we’re leaving and taking our marbles with us” is how West Virginia became a separate state in the first place. It didn’t end very well for the ones making the threat, but I’ll give them credit for going through with it. By contrast, this current crowd doesn’t seem to have the courage of their convictions. ---

My WAG is that this is a test case to see if a state can get away with refusing to cast its electoral votes. Then Senator Blowhard 1. mocks the podcast name by minimizing women in a sexual way; and 2. displays that he doesn’t understand women’s biology. Remember, this was a campaign stop to show how Harris has a unique perspective on women’s issues for a president or vice president. The audience was women, especially ones who are tuned in to women’s health issues and alert to misogyny. ---

When I was a child, map companies had a nifty trick for protecting their copyright: they’d put a fake alley somewhere on the map. Today’s Republican party does that with dictionaries. They put words in there which have absolutely no meaning for them.
