The right, again, sends out intimidating text messages to voters. A staff member at Democracy Docket, a voting rights news website founded by the Democratic election lawyer Marc Elias, also received a text” The lawsuit around this cites a case where a group targeted black populations with robocalls saying “Mail-in voting sounds great, but did you know that if you vote by mail, your personal information will be part of a public database that will be used by police departments to track down old warrants, and be used for credit card companies to collect outstanding debts?” … “The [Centers for Disease Control and Prevention] is even pushing to use records for mail-in voting to track people for mandatory vaccines. Don’t be finessed into giving your private information to the man. Stay safe and beware of vote-by-mail.” ---

The misinformation- conspiracy-outrage-action process obviously doesn’t leave much room for new information or fact/checking. And I have to wonder if not spreading the news that he wasn’t in the guide was deliberate for some reason. If I were the makers of the voters guide I would have included a place for Trump with the simple statement that Trump the Trump campaign did not submit an entry to the guide. Leaving him out entirely was bound to cause controversy. ---

In the automotive manuals I worked on years ago, any blank page needed a note that said in big letters: “This page left blank intentionally.” I think this would have done the trick for Oregon: “This page left blank because the candidate is a buffoon.” ---

The AG of Missouri is once again suing the FDA over mifepristone. Among his arguments is that declining teen pregnancy rates may harm the state by reducing federal funding or even losing a seat in Congress. Link is to a news report that links to the lawsuit.
