I’m guessing that by “landlord” they mean “property manager”, which to a resident isn’t all that different. ETA, I picked a random article and found this “70-year-old Charles Pierce, was fired from his job as the landlord of an apartment complex”. So I’m guessing he was the property manager for the apartment, not the owner. ---

This. I’ve only heard it used to mean the on-point individual considered the property manager of a _non_-residential building (in addition of course to someone who actually owns a property), but I’ve heard it called that often enough that I’ve started a thread on it before. ---

Yeah, when I was living in apartments, the person you gave your rent check to every month was the landlord. Whether or not they actually owned the place was irrelevant. ---
