Why do I get the sense that this Fallon guy (no relation to Jimmy) is angling for a Cabinet post? or perhaps I’m giving him too much credit and it’s just plain old headlines? Is this shouting meant to show strength? Yeah, healthcare (as well as Big Pharma) is one of those nonpartisan issues… Voters on both sides of the aisle hate them, while politicians on both sides of the aisle are in their pocket to at least some extent. The only way I see a divide is that the left and right have been trying to find different solutions to the problem, but neither side has an electorate happy with the status quo. That should tell you how shitty our system is; even MAGA can’t be convinced that everything is fine. “Vaccines cause mutations!” _“WE’LL INGEST DEWORMER INSTEAD!”_ “The election was stolen, trust us, the MyPillow guy has evidence he’ll share someday!” _“LET’S INVADE THE CAPITOL AND ATTACK CONGRESS AND MURDER PENCE!”_ “Healthcare is great, America is the best!” _“Umm… No, it’s total shit, have you seen my medical bills?!”_ ---

I think a more contemporary phrasing might be: _“Can the enemy of my enemy be counted on to fuck over my enemy, or would he rather fuck me over more?”_ The Soviet Union wasn’t bestest buddies with the West in WWII, they were just equally committed to fucking over Hitler first. ---
