Catfight! I can hardly wait for the hairpulling scene. I wonder who will play the roles of their seconds. Regardless of gender, we now see what electing a couple hundred emotional children in adult bodies does to politics. And, unfortunately, to governance as well. Politics is not merely showbiz. ---

If they’re just using a standard ‘past performance is not indicative of future results’, that’s one thing. But, if they’re basing their current worth on those future results, they’re getting into Enron territory. Come to think of it, I’m guessing it’s safe to assume that many of his bankrupted companies had taken on debt from his other companies before shutting down. What we’re hopefully about to find out with the kids, or at least DTJ, is that even if that “good faith effort” involved people smarter than you, telling you the yak butter deal will bring in millions of dollars, it’s ultimately your signature on the paper and your responsibility. Also, as a side note, I find it funny when DT, speaking about the worthless clauses said ‘do your own research’. Looking at a business’ financial statements _is_ doing your own research. It’s funny, not surprising, but funny that the ‘do your own research’ crowd doesn’t understand how doing your own research works. Granted, what he means is ‘well, the loan officer could have come to mar a lago and done the appraisal themselves’, which would be difficult given Trump’s infamous rule of not allowing people to take notes. I can only hope that no one trusts a financial statement from a Trump Company unless it’s fully audited by ~~Arthur Anderson~~ Deloite and Touche or Price Waterhouse or some reputable accounting firm that isn’t interested in putting their brand at risk for a few bucks. ---

I’ve _been_ hoping this would happen, and it has, but only to a minor point, an ineffective point. I’ve seen just so may people I’ve known a long time admit, even sheepishly admit that the bat-shit crazy stuff _is_ over the top, only to shrug it away in the service of their single issues…mostly guns or \*“sticking it to the libs”.
