The video is worth watching–Paxton looks and sounds as though he’s jumping out of his skin.

The “explanation” does nothing to explain his lying-on-documents issue or the associated tax issues. But of course the Fox News host was never going to point that out.

And of course, when the parents of some cisgirl complain about the new policy, the school board is going to say “It’s not our fault! The evil transsexuals forced us to institute this policy!”.

On the other hand, though, from the article, it sounds like the principal was on the student’s side, so the new rule probably will be enforced as written, forcing more awareness.

>
> The quick-turn appeal follows a series of high-profile decisions from the 6-3 conservative court that have largely benefited Republicans. A separate case dealing with President Donald Trump’s controversial executive order on mail ballots is also expected to rocket back to the justices in the coming days.
>
> The latest case involves television advertising, often the most expensive part of a congressional campaign. Candidates benefit from a federal law that requires broadcasters to charge them deeply discounted ad rates. Earlier this year, the Federal Communications Commission said that political parties and other entities are also entitled to the lower rates.
>
> The FCC decision was widely seen as benefiting the Republican Party, which generally tends to raise more money through the party committees. Democrats, by contrast, generally raise more money directly through their candidates.
>
> The House and Senate Republican party committees told the Supreme Court on Monday that they had “budgeted tens of millions of dollars in ad buys under these rules.” But, because of the appeals court decision, “broadcast stations are already rescinding those rates.”

Dr. Oz, (you know, the Islamic member of Trump’s cabinet) unveiled his idea to fix this country’s economic woes.

> Oz, the administrator of the Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services, connected the dots between improved public health and workforce participation during a White House press conference this week. If Americans could stay healthy enough to work just one additional year beyond the current average retirement age of 61, it would “increase the overall GDP of our nation by trillions of dollars,” he said.
>
> “We will reduce healthcare expenses,” Oz said. “At the same time, we jazz up the U.S. economy with trillions of dollars created by the productivity of American workers.”

Current average retirement age is **61**?

Quite possibly, depending on how you define ‘average’. But that’s a tricky word and even tricker calculation.

Of course, I’m sure he just picked a convenient number and has no idea how it was derived.

The folks who most need to retire and rest and get healthcare are generally the ones who most likely need to keep working anyway for financial reasons.

It’s totally out of touch with the experience of people who actually labor for a living. The people who actually do retire at or before 61 either can’t work anymore even if they wanted or are financially secure and won’t give up a year of retirement

</div>

A lot of “retirement” in the Rust Belt is “They closed the plant, I lost my job, I’m unwilling to move, and unwilling to learn a new job skill that pays half what I’m used to, so I’ll just go on SS disability at my current age of 43 or 55 or whatever.”

Once they are no longer seeking work, with no intention ever to do so again, they are by definition, “retired”.

Those folks in their millions are really dragging the “retirement” age down.

People working longer and later into life also means more payroll taxes being paid into the Treasury every year. Which means these tax cuts for the top 1%, that invariably end up being the number one priority for every Republican administration the second they come into office, end up being larger and larger in absolute dollar amounts. (That’s what “increase the overall GDP of our nation by trillions of dollars" is actually getting at. Because there’s no way they would use that money on things like infrastructure or social welfare programs. They view it as their entitlement.)

They are robbing the country blind and expecting the rest of us to work ourselves to death for their benefit.

And of course, right wing voters then wonder why things like roads and bridges continue to deteriorate and farm subsidies are shrinking and disappearing. But, better that I suppose than being asked to treat a trans person, a black person, or an immigrant like a human being.

[Let’s talk about meeting Satan!](https://www.yahoo.com/news/politics/articles/republican-gubernatorial-candidate-claims-met-181515636.html)

> [@](#):
>
> Republican primary voters have rallied behind some unusual candidates in recent months, but among gubernatorial nominees, Colorado’s Victor Marx stands out — and not in a good way.
>
> The Republican candidate, who [just barely won](https://www.ms.now/rachel-maddow-show/maddowblog/victor-marx-colorado-governor-exorcisms-kill-man) his primary race in June, is perhaps best known for claiming that an abusive stepfather effectively forced Marx, at just 7 years old, to kill a man.
>
> Asked in May how many people he has killed since then, [the GOP candidate paused](https://www.ms.now/rachel-maddow-show/maddowblog/victor-marx-colorado-governor-exorcisms-kill-man) before asking Kyle Clark, an anchor at the NBC affiliate in Denver, “Does it matter?” Marx went on to call it an “odd question.” (For the record, there are lingering questions about whether Marx _actually_ killed a man as a child, and [according to local law enforcement](https://www.cpr.org/2026/05/20/colorado-gop-governor-primary-candidates/), there are unsolved murders from that time period.)
>
> But as it turns out, this is not the only thing that makes Marx so unusual. The Coloradan, who founded a group called All Things Possible Ministries, has also talked about his work performing exorcisms, some of which he claims to have completed over the phone.

I’ve posted about this clown before, but I didn’t know at the time he was literally phoning in whatever it is he claims to be doing.
