It’s all missing the point. They’re not trying to find factual issues or evidence of crimes. They’re trying to win in the court of public opinion, not a court of law. Most Dopers aren’t sleazebags, though, so it doesn’t cross our minds to think of doing these kinds of things just to score political points ---

People can and do file for just about every nonsensical reason. To **win** a lawsuit or even have it progress past the early stages (assuming a non-corrupt judge/jury), she needs more. But, as I pointed out earlier, her actual purpose is courting public opinion. She couldn’t care less if the suit is tossed. She can just blast the judge as some corrupt, woke fool. Perhaps, but as previously pointed out, the codename was chosen before Smith was put on the case. Even if she has a point, she’s suing the wrong person ---
