As someone who grew up in a horribly abusive household, I am sickened by this ad and the depravity that underpins it. Disgusting. I hope it backfires spectacularly. ---

This bit with Vance is a sharp contrast to the discussion about who doesn’t like Newsom and why. It’s the old “Ds fall in love (or don’t), Rs all fall in line” bit all over again. Vance is ordering the R voters to ignore the Ramaswamy stupidity and just vote R like the brainless foot soldiers they are. Besides, _tough_ is the prime measure of merit. It takes toughness to put out an ad like that. Meanwhile half the Ds are all bent out of shape because Newsom’s hair bothers them, suggesting he’s “slick” and he’s not from working class roots, so is unelectable because Ds won’t vote for him. I’m not seeing a lot of hope for democracy in this country with that kind of non-thinking on either side. It’s very different kinds of non-thinking, but I’m still shaking my head. ---
