First! Yes, I know, but **swampy** says it’s good to be juvenile. It’s officially scorchio here at 26c/79f with predicted highs of 29c/84f. Weather app says “When you look at the clouds, you may imagine that you see squirrels. I see Mother Nature’s fucking henchmen”. I have nowhere to put a boat, but I would love a new job as I’m getting so sick of this one. Retirement sounds good too but I can’t afford to do that either. No new experiences here, apart from our post-covid experiences of hybrid working and generally navigating around what’s new and sometimes unfamiliar. Fingers crossed for your job hunting, **shoe**! ---

Good morning everyone. First cup of coffee and getting ready for the long trip home. Wishing **shoe** much luck in the new job hunt (that’s where we left off last week, right?), and a good week for everyone. After a suitable breakfast involving Belgian waffles and cheesy scrambled, we’ll make a last visit to the kid’s then begin dismantling our campsite and accumulated stuff. We’ll be stopping in at various relative’s all the way home to catch up and hopefully bury some old rusted hatchets. Life is short and our “new” thing is going to be making peace if possible. Good Mornin’ Y’all! Up and caffeinatin’. _YAWN_ ‘Tis 76 Amurrkin out and cloudy with a predicted high of 86 with maybe rain/tstorms/apocalypse. Or not. TWPTB could not be more willy-nilly than they have been the past few days. The big item on today’s agenda is cleanin’ lady comes to spiff da cave. I shall do a pot roast with carrots and N.O.T. in the slow cooker. That and baby lima beans and rolls shall constitute sup. Sloth shall, as usual, rule the day. **Yanker** here’s hopin’ you can make peace where you can, and have a safe trip back to the homeplace. Now I need more caffeine and to feed rumbly tummy. Good luck with the job hunt, **shoe**! If I may throw out an unsolicited suggestion: is there a county or state job placement office you can access? Our county has one and as I understand it, you talk with a counselor who may be able to suggest places to apply that you might not otherwise consider. We’re all rooting for you, tho I’d be disappointed if you took a job as a hoochie-koochie dancer… 😉 Harkening back to the last MMP: **FCD** has a flag that has (I think) the Jolly Roger with the words “The beatings will continue until morale improves” - it used to hang in his office. No clue where it is now. I got between 6 & 7 hours of sleep, so I’ll call it a good night. Once my sweetie gets moving, I’ll shower and dress, and we’ll head back to the boat to relocate/replace the bilge pump. He’ll actually be doing the dirty work - I’ll hand tools and shout encouragement. 😉 There’s literally not enough space for both of us to work on it at the same time. And since the pump is only working sporadically, we’ll have to take the wet/dry vac to suck all the water out before he can start work. So we’ve got that going for us. We really should mow before going this morning. Doubt that will happen, tho. To be determined. I should also consider starting supper in the slow-cooker before we go, or maybe I’ll just pull a ham steak out of the freezer to thaw. Hmmmmm… And the big news - apparently Tobias has also figured out crawling, at least according to SIL. Which means starting tomorrow, it should be really interesting here. I’m exhausted just thinking about it!! This is why menopause exists - people my age shouldn’t have babbies!!! 😮 Thankfully, daughter and SIL don’t want any more, altho if they did, they’d have to find new child-care because by the time Tobias is in preschool, I’ll be 70 - _definitely_ too old to want another babby to deal with. OK, there’s still some comics that need readin’ so off I go. Happy Moanday!! ---

Morning all. Up at 6am again, apparently my body says I can sleep in one day a week but the others I have to get up early. 90F and no rain in the forecast, so the usual shopping-n-sammich run this morning and swimmin’ and sauna in the afternoon. As for new things, I decided to go out last night to eat, wanted a 'sit-down" place but not too fancy, so ended up trying Dave&Busters. _Very_ loud and garish, fascinating how much video games have developed, but the food was mediocre at best, so probably won’t be heading back there. **shoe** , good luck on the job search, wherever it leads. **FCM** , enjoy bilgeing. And sounds like Toby may need an enclosed play area… **Yankers** , safe journeys and good visits. OK, back to the mornin’ internettin’. All y’all take care. ---

I’ll have to figure out something out because I’m not climbing over any more than I have to, plus I don’t think **FCD** could handle climbing either. I suspect we’ll be spending more time in the basement - lots of space to crawl and no dog toys. We shall see… ---

Not quite 5am and it’s already a totally reasonable HIGH temperature for the day. Ugh. Not sure what I’m going to get around to getting done today. I don’t know why I keep trying to talk to the cats about their apparent misunderstandings of each other, it’s not like they understand me even if they do bother to listen. Still, I keep telling them, “Allie, just be a little patient with the kid, he wants to make friends”, “Buddy, ease up and give the grumpy older lady some breathing room”. ---

Good morning everyone. Monday arrived much too soon. It’s currently 54 degrees with an expected high of 85 and sunny skies. Wishing you much luck in the job hunt, **shoe.** Like **boofae** , there isn’t much new going on in my life. Same ol’, same ol’, and I don’t see things changing all that much. Yesterday I vacuumed the whole house, did several loads laundry, and various other assorted chores. I also hopped onto my work laptop to complete my travel voucher for last week since the travel system we use has been really fitful and slow lately. I figured with no one (well at least not everyone) working, the system would be much faster and I was right. I also sent off a couple of emails and found out my MPA has tested positive for COVID. She was on vacation all last week, and now she’ll be gone this week too. Fun times; not. This morning I will discuss with the SD whether I need to be in Wenatchee to oversee and help with packing. I don’t really want to, but I need to offer solutions and not just bitch. I already need to be there on Thursday anyway, so if I head over tomorrow, maybe I can ensure the packing gets done. I am supposed to be off on Friday, and my boss is not going to let me work it. And, frankly, I don’t want to work on Friday. I have plans, even if they’re not exciting. I hope the bilge replacement goes smoothly, **FCM.** Safe travels on your return trip, **yankers.** Time for another cup of coffee. ---

Change in plans. **FCD** decided he wasn’t up to crawling around in the engine room. He’s doing boat-related stuff at home - drawings and designs. I’m going to futz in the yard in a little bit. I have recruited **FCD** to help me lop the branches that are hanging over the side fence, obstructing mowage. And so far, I’ve tidied the kitchen, loaded the dishwasher, boiled and peeled some eggs for whatever, cleaned the cat box, refilled the critter fountain reservoir, and made breakfast for my sweetie. Off to the shower now so I can play outside before it gets too hot… ---

We had a tarantula in the lobby last night. My night cleaner captured it and showed it to me and we let it go outside. It was very offended by this and stomped away. You could almost hear the muttered “totally uncalled for” under its breath. ---

I love the idea of an offended tarantula! 😂 Hopefully, last week’s work-related (but random) crappy mood won’t return. So far I’ve been online for 2 hours and I’m not grumpy yet… 🤞 The weather is helping: at 10:30 AM it’s 75 and sunny with low humidity, and I’ve had the windows open all morning. Woo hoo! As predicted, yesterday’s accomplishments were limited to watching most of S2 of _For All Mankind_. 😃 Two more episodes to go; I’ll probably watch at least one of them tonight. I still haven’t decided whether to start S3 right away or wait until all of the episodes are available, but I’m leaning toward the latter (I’d only have to wait a month). I _kind_ of have a new thing going on, but it takes some exposition: In my spare time, I’m a musician; a jazz singer, specifically. But ever since a show I had over Presidents Day weekend, I’ve been in a creative depression. Lots of insecurity (at unusually high levels), and zero motivation. I’ve only gone out to hear live music a few times, I haven’t done a thing about getting another gig or even networking, and at home I’ve hardly touched my piano – which has always been a form of therapy (I started playing when I was 7, and have always had a piano/some kind of keyboard). I think at least some of this has been kind of a catch-22 thing, where I might feel better if I played/went out more but I just haven’t felt up to playing/going out more. It’s been a tough five months. ☹ …BUT, I think I might finally be starting to snap out of it! Over the weekend I finally scraped enough “oomph” together to send an email to a local singer/vocal coach – who is also a friend – asking for help, _and_ I got a call out of the blue from another friend on the local scene who wants to help get me booked somewhere (and has the connections to do so). This morning, it’s like I can feel some of those musical/creative synapses starting to fire again. All of this is probably more of a return to something old than truly a new thing, but it feels new (ish). 🙂 ---
