Well folks, here I am. For reasons I’m not ready to share right off the back I have a lot of time on my hands. So I try to relax and keep my mind agile with reasonable and civil discourse. I explored a number of forums and this one looks to be the right blend of serious discussion, Q & A, and “things that make you go ‘hmmmmm’”
Please do not hesitate to point out any faux pas that I may commit. Let the posting begin!

This forum is “About this Message Board” and is (basically) only for discussion about the Board itself – comments about moderating decisions, technical usages, etc.
If you want questions that have answers: try “General Questions.”
If you want discussions about questions that have no answers but can be discussed ad infinitum: try “Great Debates.”
If you want discussions about games (of any type): try “Game Room”
If you want discussions about Elections (separate from politics per se): try “Elections”
If you want discussions about arts/movies/literature/cooking: try “Cafe Society.”
If you want to read about people’s individual situations: try “IMHO” or “MPSIMS”
If you want to see folks insult other folks: try The Pit
And if you’ve read one of Cecil’s columns and want to comment: try “Comments on Cecil’s Columns.” If you haven’t read Cecil’s columns, go to the [Archives.](http://www.straightdope.com/columns/)
