Wow, that’s a whole new paradigm of pathetic pretension.

Psssst… they’re a film studio. Price of admission entitles you to a glimpse of some pale shadows. That’s the deal.

(This is the first Star Trek movie in more than twenty years that promises to be worth a look on the big screen.)

Hard to say. Just the vibe I get. Having other actors in those iconic roles… I dunno. I’ll see it, I’m sure, and just hope for the best. If it knocks my socks off - and I’m certainly open to the possibility - there’ll be no happier Trekker around.

There’s a shot of the USS Kelvin in the movie blog. Maybe that’s the ship with the new bridge layout

(and Kirk looks like a young punk)

No, occassionally, you get the sensation that you _haven’t_ just wasted $10+ and 80+ minutes of your time.

In _your_ opinion. Based on what I’ve seen of JJ Abrams previous work, I am _not_ so optimistic.
