Warning! You can get this kind of paint in yellow and you can get it in orange. But if you get the wrong yellow-orange, it looks exactly like infant poo. This may not produce the reaction that you were expecting. ---

Brown has its own problems. But it you’ve been primed by exposure to the real thing, infant is worse. It’s much more unreliably mobile. ---

My wife’s car (which is only a couple years old) is sort of a mocha color. Which is appropriate because she likes her barista coffees. ---

Those paint colors look like the factory used Testor’s model paints. Horrible. ---

I’ve noticed two distinct paint trends. One is the sort of satin one you see on high-end cars like the one in [@HMS\_Irruncible’s post](https://boards.straightdope.com/t/new-type-of-automobile-paint-now/1031769/13). The other is where outdoorsy type vehicles (Ford Broncos, Subaru Outbacks, etc.) are painted in neutral colors. Almost camouflage type colors- sort of a khaki, sage green, olive green, brown, grays, etc… Some are glossy, some are flat. > [@LSLGuy](#): > > What caught my eye is the entire body exterior had been coated by something that resembled undercoat or rubber stucco.
