Recently new ads have appeared on the site which feature auto playing videos. I find that I’ve got an open SD page while looking at or reading something else these ads then start playing at top volume at random moments. Is there any way to stop these from auto playing? Not only are they disruptive forcing me to search through all my open tabs for the source but I have a data cap which these are eating into. Thank you. ---

Didn’t grab a screenshot this time, but earlier this evening I got another “Your iPhone is infected by viruses!” ad from SDMB. ---

I wasn’t sure what ads are and aren’t acceptable here these days, so I checked with our admins and you shouldn’t be getting any auto-playing video ads.
