I think it shares a timer with PoM, and I pretty much always rather have a hard hitting instant AB or FFB, plus I have a trinket that has a similar ability. Sitting at 36% in the updater as I type this. Think/hope that means it’s installing the patch, and when it’s done I can play–if the servers are up. I’m still sold on going fire as my primary. Probably something very much like the top rated spec in the list I linked above. Just reading the descriptions, it sounds like everything feeds off of everything else. Really looking forward to trying it out PvE and PvP. Gotta admit, though, I’m leery about trying a random heroic or VoA tonight. Radical changes to the tanking stuff + anticipated awesome fire dps = squished gnome early and often, I think… ---

I was wrong about the ‘free’ thing in Arcane; I was thinking I got Arcane Barrage for free, and that’s true, but that’s if you choose Arcane as your mastery. Doh. And Arcane’s talents are looking kind of interesting…now when my shield dissipates, everyone around me gets stepped back 12 feet! 😮 This could be fun…not to mention everyone will be fire, so I’ll be the odd one out as usual. 😛 Now, how to dual spec… ---

Wondering how Arcane Missiles is going to work in practice. In theory, it’s now a proc, like missile barrage used to be. If the button isn’t lit, you can’t cast it. If the button is lit, you can cast it, and it doesn’t cost any mana. ---

Ouch. On the upside, maybe the first wave of bugs will get hotpatched while you’re downloading. WoW patch days seem to go a lot smoother than EQ ever did, but they still usually seem to have a few problems right after something goes live. ---

Ouch! That’s gotta hurt. I started the download this morning before I went to work and let it run all day while I was gone. I’m just starting to put my add-ons back together (Monkeyquest, FuBar and X-Perl appear to be borked). I also don’t know if I like this “streaming data” thing, either. Maybe it’s just because I haven’t finished the launcher download yet but the whole game is jerky and stuttery. ---

Staring at the Armory talent trees; anyone know how many talent points a level 80 has now? The numbers on the Armory are just wrong. Also, it looks like Disc healing has gotten much much more complicated. (Also also I have a hard time seeing how any Priest build will get by without 3 points in Darkness) ---

But at least it doesn’t crash to blue screen anymore. ---

Oh woe is me. \* This application has encountered a critical error: ERROR #1 (0x13370001) Fatal Exception Program: C:\Users\Public\Games\World of Warcraft\Launcher.exe The instruction at “0x004439A4” referenced memory at “0x0642FC94”. The memory could not be read. Project: 19202101 Build: 1979 Project Name: Launcher-WoW\* That, plus lots of other stuff popped up in a “send this to blizzard and tell us why it was your fault” box. Twice. I sent it to Blizz as requested. Playing not being an option, I’m off to watch _Caprica_. ☹ ---

Third try on installing - first one crashed, second one aborted because somehow I had less than 10 GB available. Deleted some stuff to get to 25 GB available; let’s hope this is the charm. ---

I don’t know what it is, but even though I set all video settings back to max, it looks chunky, like it is 1024x768 despite running it in 1920x1200. ---

They made the default font size bigger. You can change it back, but it threw me for a loop, too.
