Heh. I want to completely kill Yahoo chat. I have no use for it, and everytime I open my Yahoo e-mail, I get a slew of chat spam that I have to take the time to close. Very, very annoying.
That’s interesting. I use Yahoo chat all the time, and I’ve never had a lot of chat spam. Maybe like, once or twice a year I have a single spammy message, which I block.
It’s there, but not by default. You can add the preview pane by clicking the “Switch View” button immediately above the list of messages (it’s represented graphically, immediately to the left of the button that looks like a gear) and choose “In Scrolling List (Show Preview)”.
I have two Yahoo! addresses, and the one I use publicly gets a lot of chat spam. The other one that I use only with trusted people doesn’t get any spam. I think your risk of getting chat spam is pretty much the same as e-mail spam.
