I’m drinking Coke. I may switch to tea, although I’m really getting the yawns and may not make it to see Regis in Times Square. We actually have some brandy in the cupboard, that’s been there for three (or is it four?) NYEs in a row. The first year, it made me so sick, I’m afraid to even look at it! Kelly and I had a very nice Reserve de la Maison Janneau Armagnac after dinner. For midnight she bought us a bottle of domaine Ste Michelle sparkling wine. I’m thinking of mixing up something out of the new _Mr. Boston Official Bartender’s and Party Guide_. ---

Nope, won’t be getting drunk. Furthur probably will, though. He’s drinking screwdrivers. I’m on Kahlua & milk. Neither goes particularly well with anything, unless you count ice cream for the Kahlua – in which case, call it a Mudslide. We’re staying in because the baby-sitter came down with the 'flu. ☹ At least we don’t have to drive home, though. Mrs. Furthur ---

I’m not a wine / champagne (pronounced “sham-pagg-en”, right? 😉 ) conniseur, so dunno if this stuff is any good, but it looked decent… Saint-Hilaire Blanquette de Limoux (2001) any good, or is it fizzy vinegar? ---

Yes drinking one or two Vodka and Cranberry’s as the bar I’m DJ’ing at. Have to drive about 40 miles home so don’t will not drink too much. ---

We’re drinking a moderate Spanish - Segura Vuidas Brut Reserva Heredad - a creamy texture and not too bitter. A lovely pewter-adorned bottle as well. I should have picked more of it up. 🙂 ---

Wine snots are very tiresome. They’re as bad as beer snots, Scotch snots, etc. Their obsession sucks all the joy right outta things. I’m sipping a delightfully fizzy thing the French would no doubt refuse to recognize as cham-PAG-nee–it’s from (gasps of horror: _California_–and it suits me fine. All is good. I’m snug at home, mellow, willing to believe the next year will likely bring as much good as difficult, so glad for everything I’m blessed with, including all these far-off people called Dopers I’ve had a chance to meet.\* Happy turning of the wheel, all.
