I’m off that day so I plan on attending. But like prr, cheesecake is not an option for me. We’ll have our own table where we’ll glare at the rest of you. ---

Oh FUCK! I’ve just realised that I’m flying in to NY on - wait for it - November 5th!!! So much for trying to stay away from the election, instead I’m flying right into it. ---

I was just there today and I can confidently say that they have excellent hot chocolate. ---

How long do these things normally last? I’m all for going, but I’m working until 10pm. Will anybody still be there? ---

Well it’s not like there will be extra traffic or rioting in the streets. Just lots of monopolizing of conversations 😃 Even then it shouldn’t be too bad unless there’s election weirdness like the last two times. ---

Yes it is indeed a Saturday. As for there not being rioting in the street - are you willing to bet money on that? ---

> [@Illuminatiprimus](#): > > Yes it is indeed a Saturday. As for there not being rioting in the street - are you willing to bet money on that? We’re talking New York City here. I would not bet money on a [llama](http://boards.straightdope.com/sdmb/showpost.php?p=10132532&postcount=11) not being in the street. ---

If you want I can PM you my mobile number and you can ring me to check if we’re still there? The last dopefest I went to lasted about 90 mins but there were only four of us and it was a school night, looks like there will be many more of us at this one and it’s the weekend so it could go on for a while. ---

Thanks for the offer of the mobile number, **Illuminatiprimus**. I think I’ll just play it by ear… I might swing by after work even though most people will probably be gone by then. Oh well, I’ll just have to catch the next one! ---

> [@jackdavinci](#): > > From Ohio? Can’t you start your own dopefest? Fine, I will start my own dopefest. With blackjack! And hookers! In fact, forget the blackjack and the dopefest.
At that distance you might as well fly to London to meet Illuminatiprimus. 😃
If he’s paying for the ticket, I’m in.
