I just got home from work, and this is the first thread I’ve checked. I’ve been worried sick about all you NYDopers all day, and am relieved to tears to find out everyone’s OK. Y’all are in my thoughts on the rough days to come. Especially you, Alphagene. I can’t imagine what you’ll have to go through on the job. Here’s wishing more strength to your fine strong self. ---

But I’ll check in too, FWIW. Spent most of the day trying to find my SO, who needed to be walked home after dental surgery. Walked down the FDR drive, agape at all the fire trucks coming in from towns that are at least an hour away. I watched the second tower go down. From my street corner. New York is one hell of a city, though. People are pulling through. mischievous ---

My brother-in-law saw the second plane hit as he was walking to work. Unbelievable. I figured that the best thing to do was to give blood or stay out of the way. The blood lines were very long so I spent the day in front of the TV. I did walk outside and see the huge smoke clouds which was a chilling sight. ---

Wow, you guys are all amazing. I am fine, although currently in DC which just isn’t the same as being in Iowa. This whole thing really sucks. I was especially worried about manhattan (the mod), Vix and CMKeller, because I know they all worked downtown. I’m glad to hear so many SD NYers are accounted for. Alphie, good luck, buddy. ---

Well here’s my “official” check-in. I wish I had internet access at home, or I would have been able to confirm about **Maeglin**. Once again, I don’t think I’ve quite calmed down from the relief I feel that all of you NY Dopers are ok (especially **vix** , who will be held personally responsible if I have a post facto heart attack \. _Everyone_ involved with the events downtown are in my thoughts today. Special thoughts for **Alphagene** as well. That’s got to be one of the most difficult jobs I can imagine right now.
