I doubt it. Trump got shot at and we collectively shrugged our shoulders. You’ll find some talking heads, particularly among Fox News and others of that ilk, that tried to pin the blame on the dangerous rhetoric of the radical left, but even among most Trump supporters it just wasn’t that big of a deal. Trump certainly tried to capitalized, both politically and monetarily, on the attempt on his life, but I don’t think it moved the needle on his campaign one way or the other.
More accurately, the rich have already paid for their politicians and now expect to get the services they deserve. A million dollars at the right time to the right person can get you billions in favors over the long term. Remember, you’re not buying the politician. You’re buying the system.
