Hello everyone. I’m very new to the message boards and want to hear what everyone might have to say about the subject. Any ideas to help me out here so I don’t totally fall flat on my face right away? ---

You’ll find a lot of helpful advice for newbies in the topic [Hints for Newbies](http://boards.straightdope.com/ubb/Forum2/HTML/000923.html) posted by as\_u\_wish in the [About This Message Board](http://boards.straightdope.com/cgi-bin/ubbcgi/forumdisplay.cgi?action=topics&number=2&SUBMIT=Go) forum. I’d recommend checking that forum from time to time, as occasionally the administrators post important announcements there.
