When is someone not considered a newbie? 100 posts? 200? When they get welcomed by a moderator? I’m just kinda curious that’s all. (being welcomed by a moderator sounds cool, but I don’t want to be a putz or suck up or anything). ---

You can suck up to me and I’ll be happy to welcome you, Monster! 😉 I’m not a moderator, though, does that matter? As I’ve said before, I never purposefully look at people’s post counts. So long as you _aren’t_ a putz, what you have to contribute is as welcome as any 3000 post Doper. ---

Ah, Grasshopper, if only it were that simple! Danged if I know when “non-newbieness” is conferred. In other words, don’t look for a sign or affirmation. I’ve been hangin’ around here for a while and gassing away at will and still consider myself a newbie. It still disconcerts me when someone recognizes me. Grab your barf bag; it’s sorta like the Burt Reynolds quote about “you aren’t a man until your Daddys _says_ you’re a man–and mine never said it.” Just keep muddling along, mind your manners, only cuss for cause and do it well and it’ll all work out. He just politely told me where I should go. I think this was my 2nd post, I guess I would/am still considered a newbie. Oh it seems like it’s been so long since I was one. I said something about that on another newbie thread. There sure is alot of talk of newbies around here. ---

Very few people notice the post count unless you bring it to their attention. Welcome to the board. After your first post you aren’t a newbie anymore unless you want to be.
