It _can_ be tough to organize one in certain areas. But, remember, you can go to any of them. What I know of currently includes a [HouDope](http://boards.straightdope.com/sdmb/showthread.php?threadid=153317) on February 15th, as well as one [in Miami](http://boards.straightdope.com/sdmb/showthread.php?threadid=153149&highlight=Dopefest) and another at the [U.S. Air Force Museum](http://boards.straightdope.com/sdmb/showthread.php?threadid=154212&highlight=Dopefest) in Dayton that same weekend. [ChiDope](http://boards.straightdope.com/sdmb/showthread.php?threadid=152788) will be along in early May, and they’re [planning one for LA](http://boards.straightdope.com/sdmb/showthread.php?threadid=154605), also. [Mentor, OH](http://boards.straightdope.com/sdmb/showthread.php?threadid=153125&highlight=Dopefest) is currently struggling with the issue, as is [the whole state of Idaho](http://boards.straightdope.com/sdmb/showthread.php?threadid=154002&highlight=Dopefest). And if you can make it to the neighborhood of the [Dallas/Foat Wuth Dopers](http://www.arborwood.com/awforums/show-toparea-1.php?fid=616&taid=1), they’ll have one for you, just about anytime. ---

If a Mid-East TN/Western NC/Eastern KY dopefest springs into the works count **'punha** and myself in. We’re Southwest VA and very close to TN/KY/NC. Hell we may even be up to traveling to OH or IL if it’s a big enough gathering. _secretly wishes a dopefest would form that wasn’t six+ hours away because I hate driving far away just to have some fun_ ---

I know **jane\_says** is in Bristol, **TN\*Hippie** is in Gatlinburg, and I believe **hillbilly queen** is also in that general part of the country. If I pass that way again, I’ll be sure to give a holler to see who I can get together with, but you shouldn’t wait on me - it might be awhile. ---

Hmm… I could make one of those too. Tennessee’s rather small north to south so despite living close to the Georgia border, it’d only be an hour or two drive to Knoxville and another hour or two to hit Kentucky. ---

I moved to Provo to go to school right after high school in 1975 and stayed until 2001 (with the exception of a couple shortlived excusions to Oregon and Massachusetts). I’ve lived in Provo, Orem, Springville, Salt Lake City, Murray, Holliday, West Valley City, Bountiful and St. George so I spent more time in Utah then I have California.
