Newish good games with "Animated Movie" art direction?

Try out some of Arkane Studios’ hits, they should be up your alley aesthetic and storywise (but different gameplay to bioshock).

Dishonored 2012 (minor spoilers)
Dishonored 2 2016 (minor spoilers)
Dishonored: Death of the Outsider 2017 (minor spoilers)
Prey 2017 (minor spoilers)

(If you’re into them, I suggest tackling the Dishonored series in chronological order and with the great DLC)

Oh and the two Dishonored DLCs you should get are:

Dishonored: The Knife of Dunwall 2013 (minor spoilers)
Dishonored: The Brigmore Witches 2013 (middle/major spoilers)

Ni No Kuni has Studio Ghibli art direction, and is a pretty good monster-collecting JRPG. The second one isn’t so good, but the art style is similar (but not Studio Ghibli).

It really isn’t an FPS though

I just found out that there is a remake of Destroy All Humans coming. No idea if it is going to be any good but it looks like it has potential.

I’ve played all of the Dishonored games. Environment-wise, it does have a sort of “living painting” look, which I like. The characters are not at all like “animated movie” characters though. Cool games. I also have played Prey too.

I realize this is a tall order. It would not occur to most developers to use that type of art direction for shooting games.

And on top of that, Elizabeth is the ONLY character in the game that really looks like that. It seems pretty obvious, looking at the evolution of the game, that they made pretty generic looking NPCs and then evolved Elizabeth into what she looks like now, all the way to the last minute. In the earliest demos she decidedly did not look a Disney princess.

In case you’re still doubting that Elizabeth was inspired by Disney…

FINAL FANTASY

apkafe !
