I just (well, a few weeks ago) installed a new display on my Gateway laptop. Initially the display worked perfectly; however after a road trip I had an issue with it. It darkens if the LCD is under any sort of pressure (i.e., from the bezel or the slightest touch). I doesn’t go out all the way, it just gets really really dark, with the images being barely perceptible.
It works fine with the bezel off unless the lower-right hand corner of the screen is touched. As one can guess however toting the thing around with no bezel is not very productive. I am guessing something in there is loose, but neither I nor the husband knows what it could be. I’d like to fix it if possible, seeing as how I dropped about $200 on the new screen.
