"Hey lady! I’m doin’ just fine! I don’t have any pictures yet, but rest assured. . . I didn’t get Labor Day off. We only get one day a week off – Friday. It’s kinda weird having a Saturday to Thursday schedule. It’s starting to throw me off." Plus some other junk. I miss **Trip**. Please post good thoughts for our Desert boy here. Hey, there **Tripster** , Tripping the Light Fantastic at Camp **D’oh** a in early September? Ahh, the balmy breezes, the tickling feeling you get when sweat drips down your back, the sand between the eyelids, I DO miss that part of the world. Near Beer and Shelf Stable Milk. Update: Just got an email from **Trip**. He has limited internet access, and message boards are filtered out. No SDMB for him while he’s overseas…but wait! I e-mailed him this page. Hey guys, thanks for the ‘shoutouts’! Unfortunately, I can’t read the SDMB from here (filtered out). So, I’m asking **Gingy** to post this in proxy (I like that word. Sounds cool.) In my short week in the desert, I’ve learned just a few things I might share with you: [ul][li] When someone yells at you “10KD! 10KD!! You ride my camel, 10KD!”, don’t be fooled. No camel ride should cost more than 8.500KD.[/li] [li] Puff Adders are nither puffs, nor can they add. [sub](Extra TripCo points if you can tell me this reference.)[/sub][/li] [li] There really is a Starbucks everywhere on the planet. I visited one in Kuwait City, and I got a mug.[/li] [li] Kuwait is just like New Jersey: Roughly the same size, lots of petrochemical industy, and the natives drive the same way.[/li] [li] Living in a tent isn’t so rough. It’s the other 7 snoring guys that make life difficult. . .[/li][/ul] Pictures as soon as I can, I promise. For now, feel safe knowing the fate of the free world rests in our hands, and of a “hubbly bubbly” (A ‘shihsha’). Tripler Keeping Operation Southern Watch as stupidity-free as humanly possible. ---
