Newt Gingrich's latest entry in the shoot-off-your-mouth contest [re: judges]

The terrifying part of what Newt’s position paper says is in the phrase " . . . exhibit a disregard for the Constitution."

How the hell is that defined? Right now, it seems to be synonymous with “Newt doesn’t agree with it.”

Would that be how it was enforced? The President, alone, has the power to determine what is “regard for the Constitution?” Or would there be a Federal Commission, appointed by the President, but with Senatorial advice and consent?

Either way, it seems as if Newt would be arrogating the creation of a “Supremer Court,” which would be a titanic change to the Constitution, without going through the amendment process. So…apply his own rule to him, and reject him! He’s showing the grossest possible disregard for the Constitution!

As far as I can tell, Gingritch’s proposal will put final say over constitutional interpretation in the hands of whoever has the biggest guns.

So, Michelle Obama, then?
