Maybe Osama has a super secret base on the moon, called Moon Unit Zappa, where he has a “laser” called the Alan Parsons Project that he plans to use on the US unless we give him… [fanfare] One million dollars! Plane jacks are possible since you are Uk look at the daily mirror (i saw it in the rack) said this daily mirror reporter got into the cockpit no questions asked , so its still possible and someguy on here said somebody bought a gun onboard without realising and was not cause as his case was not x-rayed . Course something like anthorax but contagious would be very bad since anthorax was chosen by the US UK and USSR since it was non contagious . Hmm guys is small pox contagious? ---

I know that here in Boston there was some concern about LNG (liquified natural gas) ships pulling into port and filling up the big LNG tank in South Boston. I shudder to think what would happen if somehow the millions of gallons of LNG managed to ignite in a huge fireball. Luckily, this would require getting it to evaporate first, which supposedly would not even be possible by crashing a 747 straight into it. And if it were possible, I wouldn’t post about it. I figure that’s the appropriate place to draw the line. Speculation about what potential targets might be: OK. Explanations of the vulnerability of said targets with more than a layman’s level of detail: not OK. ---

My own thoughts are that Al-Qaeda might attack the NYSE. If someone smashed a Lear jet into it, or even dispersed some anthrax into the ventilation system, the US economy would take a major hit. The other possibility would be to get a finely-milled radioactive dust, maybe cesium-137, and release it into the ventilation system of the Sears tower, and then call the police to make sure that everyone knows that all the people who were in the tower are doomed to a slow death. Plus, the tower might be impossible to decontaminate, so you’d just have to seal it up, thus making it (as my Dad put it) “a giant tombstone looming over Chicago.” Realistically, he’ll probably just have 50 agents rent 50 Lear jets and simultaneously slam them into 5 nuclear reactors across the US. It would be hard to prevent even a single jet from hitting its target, since the reactors are so poorly guarded, and if 10 hit you have a much better chance of setting fire to the core. Are there any liquid-sodium reactors in the US? Those would be the ones for him to hit. The sodium would explode, burning up the fuel and dispersing it like Chernobyl. -Ben ---

Now here’s a thought: research hospitals (and so far as I know, regular ones as well) have small sheds for short-term storage of low-level radioactive waste. If someone blew that up, the hospital would become unusable for at least a month or so, until the P-32 burned itself out. All you’d need is some plastic explosive, or a u-haul full of oil and ammonium nitrate. -Ben ---

Do you wonder why Osama’s been using boxcutters and low-tech? He’s saving his money for the BIG mission. He read **The Moon is a Harsh Mistress** by Robert Heinlein and liked the idea of bombarding the Earth with rocks. There is a secret base somewhere in the Muslim world where the rockets to the moon are being prepared. Suicide soldiers are being trained for the one-way trip. They will send multiple crews to the moon, set up the linear accelerator, and drop rocks on the Earth at high velocity, destroying whatever thay can hit. An alternative is a set of crews set to fly to asteroids with accelerators designed to steer tham into an earth-intercept course, causing destruction on a massive scale. Idea? From the last few months programming on the Discovery networks, since the movies **Deep Impact** and **Armageddon.** Admittedly, not very plausible. But it would be “bigger than 9/11”! ---

Every time I think “9/11 is the biggest news story of the year,” my little voice says “No it isn’t.” I always listen to that voice, cause it’s smarter than I am. It started telling me something really, really bad was going to happen the beginning of September. I never told anyone cause if nothing happens, you look stupid and if something does happen, you look guilty. But this time I’ll risk it. But I do believe something worse will follow, and this will turn out to be the biggest event in American history. ---
