The first 30 - 45 minutes were mildly entertaining for the Trump/Cruz face off. Each got a couple good quips in there. There were a couple other points of amusement. Ben Carson had an Admiral Stockdale moment where he couldn’t hear the question. You’d think Carson would improve as we do more of these things but he looked as lost as ever. I expect his numbers to take a beating. Cruz is probably the best debater in the group. Agree with him or not, he does well every time. ---

I think it was Rubio that repeated over and over that Obama tried to change America instead of fixing it (and that was a bad thing). So he was admitting that the last Republican administration left America broken? ---

One more thought: Cruz is the best debater out there. But in a post-policy GOP, what we have is something that is a bit removed from debate, and a lot closer to repartee. And Trump is quite good at repartee. You can envision him more than holding his own at the Algonquin Round Table, trading quips and barbs with Dorothy Parker and the like. I can’t envision any of the others in this group managing that. ---

I couldn’t bear to watch. Cruz gets the first question on the economy, then immediately starts masturbating about the ten sailors held overnight by Iran. By God, if he was president he’d fucking launch the nukes if they did something like that. Then Rubio says Hillary is disqualified because of Benghazi. This even though they STILL haven’t pointed out anything she did wrong. Fuck all of these guys. ---

Trump won this debate, hands down. When he loses debates (which really only happened during the very first one), his numbers improve, and when he _wins_ debates his numbers friggin’ soar. I agree with **Qin** ; expect him to command majority support in the polls pretty soon. ---

It’s kinda funny: for 30 years, I was sure that we’d never have a worse President than Nixon. Then about this time in 2004, I realized that we did. And now this crew of Republicans is making GWB look good by comparison. I don’t know how you limbo under a bar that low, but this bunch are managing it quite effortlessly, really.
