Not a lot of news this week in the NFL, which is probably a very good thing. Players continue to go on the Covid list, but no games are (currently) under threat of being postponed. The NFL finished its investigation into the Titans covid outbreak, but haven’t done anything yet. And poor Ryan Fitzpatrick gets benched again, despite not being all that bad.

Last week was kinda a cluster%#^@ that I did not see coming. It’s nice to get that yearly reminder that the NFL is pretty difficult week to week and “Any given Sunday” still holds true.
Thursdays’ game feature two bad teams in the worst division in the NFL. I’ll watch, but only because (thanks to an injury to Dak) I need Carson Wentz to jump in a time machine back to 2017 when he was actually good at playing QB. The Steelers/Titans game should be a fun one to watch. I think both teams are pretty damn good and even matched, so it could be a good old fashioned run the ball/play defense slugfest. And, of course, the Packers. Their total collapse last week really surprised me, and it better have been a wakeup call for a good team and not a revealing of suckitude of a bad one.
I had the Niners/Pats game circled on the calendar before the season started, but injuries to the Niners D line and the Patriots loss last week kinda tarnished the finish on the game. It will be interesting to watch, though. I think Shanahan, McDaniels, and Bellicheck are three of the best coaches at adjusting to different situations and players currently in the NFL.
If I liked anything about the Bucs or the Raiders, it could be a fun game to watch, but, I really don’t care much. And Monday’s game will be yet another game where I think the Bears get a wake up call from a good team, only to see their defense play extremely well. Been there, done that.
So, anyone else excited for this week of NFL football? God knows I need a break from this fucking election cycle (although there have been way too many politicial ads locally during the games). Let’s hear from you!

The Giants/Eagles are going up against the last presidential debate, I’ll pick the debate.
Cards/Seahawks should be fun.
Washington gets a crushed Cowboys team and I think they get their second win.

There could be interesting consequences in a couple of games with results that aren’t out of the realm of possibility:
If the Giants beat the Eagles: do things blow up in Philly for the coaching staff & Carson Wentz?
If the Bengals beat the Browns: media attention for Baker will be through the roof (more than it already is) and would OBJ throw a fit?

I’m really interested in the Seahawks/Cardinals game. I’ve watched undefeated Seattle three times this season, and each time they’ve escaped with a narrow win, thanks in large part to their amazing quarterback. The Cards are 4-2, but aside from their opening-day win over the Niners, their 3 other wins are over teams with a combined four victories, and they’ve lost to Carolina and Detroit. But they looked damn impressive on Monday night, and I’m hoping for a close, competitive game.

Eagles just scored. At this rate, we might as well hand them the division title on a silver platter. They’re the only NFC East team that looks remotely competent this year.

Can someone explain to me why the Eagles own the Giants so thoroughly. Philadelphia beating New York 23 out of the last 27 meetings can’t be a coincidence. There must be some incurable flaw about NYG that only the Birds can exploit.

In a pretty good game between the Panthers and Saints, the Panthers’ kicker kicked a dead on 64 yard field goal attempt. Unfortunately, they were trying for a record-breaking 65 yarder… Despite the Saints win I continue to be impressed with Teddy Bridgewater.
