Well I’ll be - the Matts (Patricia & Stafford) pulled off a win in the last seconds. Will wonders never cease.
Sean McDermott apparently took the opportunity at half time to remind his team they were playing against the Jets.
Inn the Lions game, the Lions made a huge pass that left them on like the 6 with under ten seconds. They were going to spike it, and when Stafford snapped the ball there was one, maybe two defensive players on the Lions side of the ball, still trying to run onto position from upfield.
Why wasn’t that an offsides penalty? What obscure rule am I missing?
This year was/is the Patriots’ chance to tie the Cowboys’ record of most consecutive winning seasons (20.) They’re at 19 now, but look to be in jeopardy of pulling off the feat.
Still early days I know, but Herbert is looking really good for the Chargers.
Oof that hit on Andy Dalton. That guy (Jon Bostic) should be suspended for the rest of the season (at least) in my opinion.
The Falcons are such a weird story this year. 1-6, but by all rights they “should be” 4-3.
My Steelers were really rolling the Titans in the first half, but found a way to turn the second half into a nail biter.
It takes a lot to spoil a Washington win over the Cowboys, but that did it for me.
The Chargers are like this too (aren’t they always). They’re 2-4, and in the four losses:
- They were up 11 on KC, then lost in OT when Butker hit a 58-yard field goal (three times
) - Against the Panthers, Ekeler dropped a lateral on the last play that would have won the game
- They were up 17 on Tampa Bay
- They were up 17 on New Orleans, doinked the game-winning FG, then lost in OT
Of course they could’ve lost the two games they won too. Chargers gonna charge. ![]()
Why the hell is Arizona kicking that FG on second down? 41 yards isn’t a gimme, and anyway they should be running the clock, no?
Well, that was one of the most exciting games I’ve seen in a long time. Nice win for the Cards. As awful as the NFC east is, the NFC West is going to be pure fun all season.
I guess it was a warm up for the second one
What a weird course of events for Atlanta and Todd Gurley.
Imagine losing a game because you scored a touch down!
Yeah, that was bad. It looks like he won’t get a sanction:
It was still a helmet to shoulder hit. He can’t stop in full motion like it’s a video game.
He will get whacked with a fine but no suspension
Apparently, I’m nearly the only one to notice. This article mentions it in passing (with no further comment) but does point out how the ball got moved back 3 yards for no reason and with no explaination.
Some officiating!
Officially, the snap never occurred, so no Atlanta players were offsides (and no Lions were false starting). The officials decided to review the play before the snap occurred, so that play never actually happened. Yes, the ball was snapped, but the officials had decided before then to review the catch. So, no play.
The 3 yard difference though. Probably just a mistake.
What baffles me is the Lions defender who at first grasped and tackled Gurley, but then celebrated when he scored the TD. If you want the opposing ballcarrier to score so badly, why are you tackling him in the first place? You should be rolling out the red carpet in front of him, or perhaps even seizing him and dragging him into the end zone.
OK that makes sense. Wish the announcers had said that.
They laughed at me when I started the 20 yard line in my fantasy team.
This yawn Bears/Rams game has yawn had some yawn nice defensive yawn plays, but yawn how many 6 yard yawn passes and 2 yard runs can yawn these teams yawn have?
I’m surprised the Rams arent running the ball more and neither of these QBs have been impressive. Andrew Whitworth, Aaron Donald, and Khalil Mack are fun to watch though.
