This is why Antonio Brown did those theatrics:

> **[Antonio Brown refused to enter Buccaneers game when Bruce Arians asked](https://nypost.com/2022/01/02/antonio-brown-refused-to-enter-buccaneers-game-bruce-arians/)**
>
> Antonio Brown’s meltdown seems to have been prompted by a request to go into the game.

> Bucs coach Bruce Arians [told Fox Sports’ Jay Glazer](https://twitter.com/JayGlazer/status/1477761601092538369?s=20) that he was trying to get Brown into the game, which the wide receiver refused. When he refused a second time, Arians reportedly told him to get out.
>
> Brown did so, emphatically — creating a spectacle by removing his shirt, throwing it into the crowd and waving his arms before going up the tunnel.

That’s doubly strange. Current theories were that Brown was on a snap count due to an injured ankle, and was being held out at the time, keeping him from getting an escalator in his contract for receptions.

Just wonky, all around. Is it CTE, or narcissism run rampant?

He didn’t go all crazypants but the Seahawks got rid of Percy Harvin (trading him away) after he refused to go into a game. Reportedly it was the 3rd time that year he’d done it.

No on-field shenanigans, just disgruntlement.

Later it came out that Harvin had severe anxiety and smoked weed before each game. It’s a good thing he wasn’t tested.

But no, I can’t think of any player so openly crazy and disruptive. Usually these things happen in the locker room or on the practice field, away from cameras.

Dammit!

51-29, Seahawks at the 1 yard line with a minute to go. Any points will be a scorigami.

They kneel 3 times for victory. Bastards!!!

There’s certainly an extensive history of NFL wide receivers being prima donnas and/or strange (see: Terrell Owens, Chad Johnson, Randy Moss, Keyshawn Johnson, etc.); the position does seem to attract that particular sort of personality. I don’t recall Brown being such early in his career (though maybe I just wasn’t paying close attention), but it certainly has become the case over the past few seasons.

Whether he is or isn’t suffering from CTE, his behavior since around 2018 does suggest that there may be some sort of emotional issues going on.

Does that make it an anti-scorigami? There is some number of scores that have only occurred once. When one of those scores happens for a second time, the number of one-of-a-kind scores decreases by one.

I take it from your post that 51-29 has happened before. How many times?

This is the second instance of 51-29.

Saints 51, Packers 29, November 24, 2008.

There has never been a game where the loser got 29 points and the winner had more than 51. 51 is the highest and still is after today. Any additional points would lead to a scorigami if the loser stayed at 29.

Hence my sincere disappointment. The winner of the game was clear at that point, I just wanted a scorigami!

I’d say the ultimate anti-Scorigami has to be 20-17: this is much the most common final score, having been recorded 273 times. In second place is 27-24, appearing in a mere 222 games.

No other result breaks 200, though a couple are close.

When I first saw this I thought it had to be a mistake: Giants finish the game with minus 10 passing yards.

How does it happen that a mega city like New York has taken to fielding two God-Awful football teams. Over the past 5 seasons, each boasts a record of 22 - 58.

I listened to a good part of the game, while working around the house this afternoon. I think that the Giants only had two pass attempts in the first half (one of which was intercepted), and they had clearly decided that their offensive game plan was to run the ball, and let Mike Glennon pass as little as possible.

(And, for the record, while it was cold in Chicago today, the weather wasn’t bad, so this wasn’t like the Patriots-Bills game a few weeks back, where the Patriots barely passed.)

For the day, Glennon completed four passes for 24 yards, but he was sacked four times for 34 yards, hence the -10 net passing yards. (He also fumbled four times, and threw two picks.) Just an ugly day.

Which makes sense for stats. Any sack will happen on a passing play; a running play doesn’t give enough time for a QB to be sacked before he hands off.

An exception is when a running QB tries to do a designed run and is tackled behind the line of scrimmage, but that doesn’t seem to happen that often.

I seriously think this is a combination of some of that, and a cocaine abuser that’s gotten away with it for too long. Other than brain damage/borderline schizophrenia, I can’t think of a better reason that would line up with some of his crazy, often paranoid and violent, behavior.
I mean, this IS the same guy that in a violent tizzy over being evicted from a luxe apartment in like, Miami or something (over resident’s complaints about loud parties super late, etc…shocker, I know), damaged the place on purpose and threw an ottoman, among other things, off the balcony and nearly smeared a little boy walking in the pool area with his grandfather with it.

Anyway, Who Dey! The future keeps looking brighter for Burrow and the boys. I believe they will be competitive for quite awhile with #9 upright. Hell yeah! I expect the scores in the Bengals v Browns game to be lopsided in the other direction this time.

He did that, and _still_ the NFL gave him another chance?

A disappointing day for this Kansas City fan. My wife rearranged our Sunday routine so I could watch the game at home while she ran errands with the kids. Game time came and… it was blacked out for the Colts game. Ugh. From following along on social media, it sounded like officiating was terrible, but whatever - that happens, and my feed is very pro-Chefs. But I was disappointed to watch my ESPN app during the final drive. Why the hell didn’t they just let the Bengals score so they could at least have a chance to get the ball back?!?

Why is this a surprise?

Up until then, he was just a troubled individual who needed the discipline and structure an NFL team could provide and the support structure coaches, teammates, and staff could provide.

Then, he committed the cardinal sin: he refused to play during a game

Almost killing somebody? Sexual assault? Not a problem.

Hurting your team’s chances during a game? Unforgivable

The officiating was bad, but I can’t blame the Chiefs loss on it. The offense sputtered in the second half, and the defense allowed a number of long pass completions. Chase made some amazing catches. And in typical Chiefs fashion, they had a TD called back on a holding penalty, which turned out to be the difference in the game. The bad reffing was just icing on the cake.

Total agreement from a Chiefs fan. I was also baffled that they didn’t let Burrow walk in for a TD with two minutes to go, but they messed up royally earlier in the drive. After a sack and a penalty, the Bengals had a 3rd and 27 at the KC 41 with 3:19 left. The Chiefs could have played two-deep (and double-teamed Chase), giving up a 10-15 yard gain and allowing a field goal. KC would have had the ball down 3, 3 minutes to play, and all 3 timeouts. Instead, they ran an all-out blitz, and Burrow completed a 30-yard pass to Chase for a first down.
