Different sport, but I went to see a Mets doubleheader last week of the baseball season. Got my ticket for a buck fifty-nine. For two games. And nobody was there. The empty seats were packed. ---

The Bills were always solid to begin with. They should have beaten the Eagles, they shot themselves in the foot vs. the Patriots and Broncos. Were it not for those three fluke losses, they’d be challenging the Ravens for the No. 1 seed right now. ---

That game had only two possible outcomes, either the Browns would lose in the most Browns way possible or the Bears would lose in the most Bears way possible. ---

The only fluke loss was to the Broncos, when they couldn’t count past eleven on defense. The Pats drove 75 yards in the last two minutes for the go-ahead TD with 12 seconds left. The Eagles drove 75 yards in 3 minutes in OT for the winning TD, after Buffalo failed to connect on a wide-open touchdown. The Giants had a first-and-goal at the one on the last play of the game but couldn’t convert the winning TD. The Chiefs had a bizarre penalty that negated the go-ahead TD with a minute left to play. The Bucs had a Hail Mary pass that was damn close to being caught for the winning TD. I’m not disputing that the Bills are a solid team and they will certainly challenge for the AFC championship, should they make the playoffs. But it’s more than fluke losses that have kept them from being in position for the top seed. ---

The Cowboys and Eagles may end up going down to the end of the season tied, at which point the Eagles’ strength-of-victory or common-opponents tiebreaker may kick in. ---

That would be a tie. Next tiebreak is strength of victory, followed by strength of schedule. No idea on either of these. Eagles remaining games: Giants, Cardinals, @Giants Cowboys remaining games: @Dolphins, Lions, @Commanders Schedule would appear to favor the Eagles. ---
