Almost 8 years ago I was gripped in front of the TV watching my 2nd team beat an exhausted Falcons defense with an overtime touchdown.
And here I am again, except this time it’s my first team, and I’m rooting _for_ Dan Quinn. It’s a funny old world.

Well, maybe, but I would have put up a prop bet IRL against someone that the Buffalo/Jets game would end in a complete shut-out at the beginning of Q4.
I think NYJ need to be investigated for PEDs…congressional enquiry is needed. Or, maybe BUF just stopped caring.
Either way, I wanted that game to be a complete shutdown of the KAaron show…and it wasn’t. Settle for the decisive win, though.

So what does Minnesota do with Darnold performing at an All-Pro level and J. J. McCarthy, their injured 1st round pick? Darnold is a free agent in 2025 and only 27, McCarthy is a complete unknown; a rookie again.
I’d keep Darnold if you can afford a big raise from $10 million. McCarthy is still cheap under his initial contract.

IIRC, Washington has the NFL’s current-longest playoff win drought, not having won a playoff game since 2005.
And even that was a long-shot, it took several improbable wins in the regular season that year for Washington to get to the playoffs. They could easily have been winless in the postseason since 1999.

The 2020 Washington playoff game seems like it was decades ago. Dwayne Haskins is dead and Washington only squeaked by with a 7-9 record to win a bizarre NFC East that weird COVID season.

Miami hasn’t won a playoff game since 2000, which is the longest in the NFL.
Washington has the longest drought in the NFC.

Does the Lions-Niners game tonight have any meaning? The Vikings game next week determines the NFC North victor. If the Lions lose tonight and win next week, and the Eagles win next week, who gets the #1 seed?

The 3.5 spread on the game tonight makes more sense.
Although I’m not sure the Lions can rest the starting defense, given the starters are all already out.

According to the below article,

The metro-Detroit area has been in a growing level of excitement and frenzy all year about the Lions, really since they almost made the Super Bowl last season.
The Lions have delivered so far, but man…that amount of points we are allowing it concerning.
I hope they win it. The last time I’ve seen sports frenzy like this where I live was the 1997 Detroit Red Wings Stanley Cup, the end of another drought.
Is this the same in Minnesota? My understanding is they also have not been in a Super Bowl.
