> Agreed. Even if there are teams in need of WR help (and there are), I doubt there will be many, if any, willing to actually part with draft capital for a guy who hasn’t played a down in just over two full years, and who has been a pain in the backside for his current team’s management.

In addition, why bother trading draft capital and get stuck with his contract when you can just wait for him to be released and then sign him to a much cheaper prove it deal.

I wonder about that.

Sure, Aiyuk will probably clear waivers and become an unrestricted free agent, at which point some desperate team might give him a one year deal for peanuts. But he’s been beyond a diva the last few years, so the question becomes is he willing to swallow enough pride to accept that?

> Sam Darnold has been ruled out with a quad injury for this week’s game against the Cardinals. Drew Lock will likely get the start.

If Lock is good to go; he’s still dealing with an elbow injury, and was inactive for the last two games. Otherwise, the Seahawks will be down to Jalen Milroe.

My gut tells me that Aiyuk likely has unrealistic expectations of how big the demand for his services is going to me.

Yeah, but the Bears run defense is suspect. Or, at least it has been most of this season.

As a 49er fan who has followed this closely I still have no freaking clue. I think you hit the nail on the head that this is more about pride than being coocoo for coco puffs like Antonio Brown was.

I have no proof but I also think there is something major that happened that Aiyuk doesn’t want to come out. Mostly because he didn’t even fight it when the team voided the guarantees on his contract.

I think any team that takes him on is going to have to have a very good culture to take him on as he is obviously a huge handful that is going to need both the players on the team and the coaching staff to keep him in line.

~$12 mil dead cap this year, ~$19 mil next year with possible credit reducing that.
