I don’t get what you’re saying. Didn’t i just say that?
They’re similar statements, but they’re not the same. You said it was reasonable to conclude that his sexuality wasn’t the problem - I assume when you say “the problem,” you mean the reason he got caught up in this ridiculous scandal - and I said there’s really no reason to even think it’s the problem. It sounds like you were saying it’s reasonable to conclude he’s not gay. I’m saying there’s no reason to think he’s gay at all. Anyway: if players are being asked about this because of the Te’o thing, that’s some kind of extra special stupid. At least two players report being asked about this, and I think the teams should be fined.
Well the beginning of the message stated that NFL teams may feel embarrased because of the Te’o scandal. I then - in the statement you qouted - relayed that if they believed the outcry was because he may or may not have been gay (which I agree was never the question) - they missed the whole point of why he is a laughing stock. The line of question would imply that it is ok to have a fake dead girlfriend - but not to like men. Because they didn’t ask the guys if they had a cyber girlfriend, or a long distance relationship; they asked if they “liked girls”. Thus, showing their (the NFL’s) true concerns.
So you were actually correcting/debating me on a point that I didn’t make…
But, anyway ..yeah… the teams should be fined.
Yes. But she’s from Canada, you wouldn’t know her.
I agree that it would raise eyebrows if a player had a girlfriend who was the son of a pastor.
The only girl that could ever reach me…
Q: “Do you like girls?”
A: “Hell, no! They’re way to small, even for wide receiver or something.”
<muttering> “Man, what kind of crazy whack coach does this team have?”
Q: “Do you like girls?”
A: "Naw, man. To me, they just don’t go at it as long or hard, especially once they’ve been bitten a few times.
But I thought ya’ll didn’t want us to talk about dogfighting anymore, right?"
Then the followup question becomes “Do you also listen to R Kelley?”
Not used as an example. It was reported, and confirmed by Dolphin’s GM , that it was a follow up to the anser, “She worked for my dad”, after already giving Pimp as his father’s occupation.
He very well may have been giving smart alex answers to questions he tought were stupid and not applicable to his skills, or as a way of making sure the Dolphins did not draft him,
But that was the way it was reported.
As yes I concur, it was an abusrd thing to ask a player.
Just wondering- what if a player said, “I LOOOOVE girls- Liza is faaabulous, and so is Miss M.”
I’m going to let my agent handle that one: I really really really, really really really like girls!
