A couple of years ago I started [a similar thread](http://boards.straightdope.com/sdmb/showthread.php?t=275490), the gist of which was to be a punishment for myself – for each game I picked wrong, I had to write a haiku lamenting my poor decision. Time to bring the pain back again. Feel free to join in…either in the same, lamenting style I’ll be showcasing, or to throw in any NFL-related haiku you wish. And now, the kickoff: I didn’t do too badly…Week 1 is always a trick, since teams haven’t really shown you much in the preseason. All in all, I can’t complain a bit about going 12-of-16. Oh, those four misses though… **DET over ATL** “Lions are a lock!” Ryan lets fly, Turner burns. Friends say “_You’re_ lyin’”. **SD over CAR** I told all my friends: “Pick the Panthers, they will win!” Ignored my advice. **IND over CHI** Bears over the Colts?? Who would’ve seen that coming? Ground game Bears’ forté. **MIN over GB** Tarvaris was hyped To be Vick’s second coming. Going to the dogs. ---
